Sourcing Oak from the Jura

Four days above Saint-Claude

We buy standing timber, not sawn boards. It costs more, it takes two years longer, and it is the only way to know what you are working with.

Oak from the Jura grows slowly in thin soil. The rings sit close together, the timber is dense, and it moves less once it is dry.

We marked eleven trees this spring. Nine will become furniture in 2028.
